Customs 

    In Belize, you would usually nod, wave, or say hi to people on the streets, even of you don't know them. When greeting people you usually shake eachothers' hand, or fist bump. Spanish speaking people in Belize will say buenos dias, buenos noches, or buenas tardes; they mean, good morning, good night, and good afternoon. When you are getting someones' attention, don't hiss, it is considered disrespectful. Staring or pointing to someone is considered rude in Belize. When visiting anothers' house it is polite to bring them a little gift, like candy. When someone is visiting your house you want to give them a resfreshment, because it is considered good manners. Since Belizeans like eating meals with their families, kids are sent home from school, and adults come home from work so they can all eat together. 

Facts to Know 

    Belize has the second largest barrier reef in the world. When going to Belize, people recommend scuba diving, and snorkeling. But when you are snorkeling or scuba diving, do NOT touch the coral, because it ruins them. Visitors can stay in Belize for only thirty days. When you go to a resturant, you need to pay the waitor at least 10% service add on. Belize has so many different cultures including, Mayan, Spanish, British, and African influences.
